ipgiraffe.com ("we", "the site") provides a simple tool to show visitors their public IP address and related network information. This page explains what data is involved when you use the site.

Information we see

To show you your public IP address, your browser sends a request tocountry.is, a third-party API. That request necessarily includes your public IP address, which country.is uses to look up country, city, ISP (ASN), and approximate location data. We do not store this information on our own servers — the lookup happens directly from your browser to country.is, and results are displayed only in your browser session.

The lookup tools (Inspect, WHOIS, DNS, IP Lookup) work the same way: your browser sends the address, domain or ASN you enter directly to the services that hold the data — country.is and our own cis-api.ipgiraffe.com fallback for location, Cloudflare and Google DNS-over-HTTPS for DNS records, rdap.org (which forwards to the regional internet registries) for registration data, RIPEstat for BGP routing data, and Wikidata for the organisation behind a domain. We do not log or store the queries you make.

One exception: for the "About" section of a domain report, our server (not your browser) opens that domain's homepage to read its title and description. The result is cached for a day so popular domains are not fetched repeatedly. Only the domain name is sent; your IP address is not passed on to the site.

Cookies and third-party advertising

This site may display advertisements served by third-party ad networks, such as A-Ads (Anonymous Ads). These networks may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to:

• Serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites
• Measure ad performance and prevent fraud
• Personalize ad content where permitted by your region's laws

We do not control these third-party cookies. You can review or opt out of interest-based advertising through your browser settings or viaA-Ads' own privacy policy.

No accounts, no personal data collection

We do not require registration, do not ask for your name or email, and do not knowingly collect personal data beyond what is automatically part of any web request (such as your IP address and browser user agent), which is used solely to provide the IP lookup feature.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
